Arm Wrestling -Father Reaction

My reaction in connection to the txet: " Arm wrestling with My Father" is the significant description of the authors several emotional stages.
The author starts with his childhood and goes all the way into the day where he is a grown up and leaves his family.
For my opinion this essay is beautifully written and easily described. The different emotional stages in almost every phase of his life up to the point, where he masters the situation and becomes physically superior to his father, is just magnificant. The way the author describes the moment of realising what is just happening and his emotional and mental flashback made me almost believ that he would let his father win the Arm wrestling, but he didn't let his father win. Also very significant is the release and opening emotionally on both sides. It felt to me like his father finally got his son to where he wanted him. At the end the father openly shares his deep love to his son, through telling him that fact during a hug. Most interesting is that the son didn't really reacted to it the way he would or wanted to, just because the emotionall wall was there for years. The son is even hopening to have the same emotional opening with his father again. For me this is just beautifull.
